Sales Manager (West Coast) – Food Manufacturing & Distribution Software
The ideal candidate will have...
A stable work history in the food manufacturing and/or distribution business.
Experience in sales, including prospecting, relationship building, pipeline management, closing, and meeting sales goals.
A strong work ethic with a natural motivation to learn and grow.
The ability to work independently but also be a team player with a desire to help the overall team.
Experience presenting and communicating with C Suite individuals.
A disciplined drive to learn Aspen Systems’ ERP software application, Canopy, and supporting modules.
A willingness to travel throughout the Western US, up to 25%.
Experience in these areas is a plus...
Understanding of Food Industry operational processes such as Ordering, Invoicing, Manufacturing, Distribution, Inventory, Warehouse, Delivery, Accounting, and Food Traceability.
Experience in protein manufacturing and/or distribution.
Experience with Aspen Systems’ Canopy application or other Food Industry ERP applications.
A foundational knowledge of accounting and food manufacturing costing.

Our Software
Our current software, Canopy, is a full ERP application for Food Manufacturers and Distributors.
Our core modules include Sales, Order Entry, Invoicing, Customer, Product, Purchasing, Receiving, Inventory, Warehouse, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable management.
Additional add-on modules for Canopy include Food Manufacturing with Traceability, Barcode Scanning, Weighing and Labeling, Dashboards, Event Notification, Digital Documentation, Driver Delivery, CRM, eCommerce, Forecasting, and Temperature & Humidity tracking features.
Position Overview
The Sales Manager will be responsible for demonstrating and selling the ERP suite of Canopy applications to prospective food manufacturers and distributors, ancillary hardware, and integrated third-party software.
Responsibilities in this Role
Direct Sales Activities:
Research companies and why they may be (or not be) a fit for Canopy.
Conduct comprehensive needs assessments with prospects and demonstrate how the suite of Canopy modules can address the specific needs of targeted food companies.
Evaluate the hardware and software needs of potential clients, including on-site visits and help move toward a proposed set of solutions.
Create detailed assessments and quotes.
Manage the closing process and successfully transition the customer to the accounting and implementations teams in accordance with contracts.
Participate as an exhibitor in Trade Shows, build and follow up on leads or customer requests.
Create and maintain relationships with existing customers for references and identify opportunities to help drive their adoption of Canopy and additional modules.
Internal Responsibilities:
Record daily sales and marketing activities in a CRM database.
Assist the Marketing team in selecting prospective companies to target and identifying key individuals within those companies for Aspen’s marketing activities.
Report routinely to the Director of Sales about your potential future sales funnel.
Participate in internal meetings and strategic sessions regarding Aspen’s sales efforts.
Review new releases of Canopy carefully and learn how these changes function within the software.
Help existing customers connect with the appropriate individuals or teams when needing support with the ERP.
Other duties and tasks as reasonable.
Note: We understand this position is unique and we are willing to invest in and train the "right" person.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year (uncapped commissions)
