This is an unpaid internship!Key Objectives: As a part of their role, the intern will work alongside the Asset Manager at the Georgia Department of Public Health, providing support on a range of ongoing projects. The intern will have a multitude of different tasks to perform each day that may include Data Cleanup and Management, Data Reconciliation, Inventory Support, Policy Review and Updates, Fleet Management Assistance and Attendance at Facilities Meetings. This internship would not only provide valuable real-world experience for a student or recent graduate, but it would also help our agency meet critical goals and improve long-standing gaps in compliance and accountability.This is an unpaid internship!
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Duties: 1. Data Cleanup and ManagementReview and correct erroneous asset and location entries in the current asset management systemAssist with organizing and updating digital records to prepare for the Workday transitionHelp establish consistent formats and guidelines for labeling and data entry to reduce future errors.2. Data ReconciliationCompare system data with physical records to identify and correct discrepanciesAssist in verifying and validating asset records across multiple locationsSupport efforts to ensure vehicle and fleet records match state documentation and internal databases3. Physical Inventory SupportHelp coordinate and participate in inventory site visits at the state office and district locationsDocument physical asset conditions, serial numbers, and location detailsAssist in compiling a comprehensive and updated inventory list4. Policy Review and UpdatesSupport the review of current Asset and Fleet Management policiesConduct research to benchmark policies from comparable agenciesAssist in drafting updated policy language for internal review5. Fleet Management AssistanceHelp correct vehicle records by identifying incorrect assignments and updating locations and programsAssist in compiling documentation needed to request or re-order missing vehicle titles6. MiscellaneousAttend Facilities meetingsOffer suggestions and recommendations to improve efficiency

The Internship will be located in Downtown Atlanta at the Georgia Department of Public Health. Internship positions allow flexible work schedules and the opportunity to work remotely, if available.
